Sustainable Tulsa is leading the way on local foods issues with The Eat Local Taste of Tulsa – the first gathering of its kind to feature Tulsa’s finest restaurants, producers and wineries using locally grown and produced ingredients.

Attendees can expect to be wowed by an array of foods created by Tulsa’s finest chefs and producers including Augusto’s Green Sauce, Biga Italian Bistro, Bodean Seafood, Farrell Family Bread, Hope’s Table, Living Kitchen, Natural Farm’s Organic Café, Topéca Café, Wagon Creek Creamery and much more. Wineries include Grape Ranch, Cabin Creek, Oak Hills, Stable Ridge and more. Scott Aycock of Folk Salad will be the MC introducing live music, a raffle and an opportunity to meet local farmers. A silent auction will also be offered to benefit Sustainable Tulsa.

“More and more chefs, restaurateurs, wineries and consumers are speaking up and speaking out about the importance of bridging the gap between farmer and chef. The Eat Local Taste of Tulsa event brings it all together – chef, farmer, producer and consumer,” says Bibi Becklund, a Sustainable Tulsa board member and Local Foods committee chair. “This event will be a festive celebration of Oklahoma’s rich agricultural splendor.”

This event will also be an opportunity for guests to learn about what’s new in the local food scene, Rita Scott will be there to talk about the exciting Buy Fresh Buy Local campaign and we will celebrate the Cherry Street Farmers’ Market 10th anniversary. Not only is this a wonderful evening of food and drink, but enlightening as well.
