The Talons friendly neighborhood receiver is the Arena Football League’s Offensive Player of the Week.

Donovan "Spiderman" Morgan has been named the Russell Athletic offensive player of the week in the AFL after his outstanding performance in at home against Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings last weekend.

Morgan was a big reason the Talons were able to pull away from the Battle Wings in the second half and go on to a convincing victory. Morgan finished with 9 catches for 180 yards and 5 touchdowns. His final touchdown went for 45 yards as he sprinted away from the Battle Wings defensive back down the sideline. Morgan is now second in the league with 44 touchdown receptions on the season. 

The honor comes as the Talons are set to take their game on the road for a rematch with the Alabama Vipers this Saturday night in Huntsville, Alabama.  The two teams met once before the in the amazing BOK Center back on May 8 when the Talons handed the Vipers a 62-58 loss.

Morgan’s award comes as the Tulsa Talons remain ranked 7th in the league among the AFL head coaches.

The Tulsa Talons remained in 7th position in this week’s Coaches Poll despite beating the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings 74-45 last Saturday at the BOK Center. It is the 4th consecutive week the Talons have been rated the 7th best team in the AFL.

The official watch party for the Talons game in Alabama will be held at Fair Meadows Grill located at the fair grounds just North of Big Splash at 7:30pm on Saturday night.

The Talons return home on July 24th when they play the Arizona Rattlers at 7pm at the BOK Center.
