Drillers ink deal with Clear Channel

The Tulsa Drillers and Clear Channel Radio announced today that the Drillers radio broadcasts during the upcoming 2011 season will return to the airwaves of Sports Radio 1430, The Buzz. This season will mark the 26th consecutive year that the Drillers and Clear Channel have partnered for game broadcasts. It will be the seventh straight season that The Buzz has been the radio home for Drillers Baseball.

"We are excited to announce the continuation of one of the longest radio partnerships in all of Minor League Baseball," said Drillers Media and Public Relations Director Brian Carroll.  "We have had a great relationship with everyone at Clear Channel over the years, and this new agreement makes it easy for our fans, as they know where to again tune their radios to keep up with everything on the Drillers."

The Drillers also announced that Dennis Higgins will return for his third season as the broadcaster for the club.  Higgins will continue to bring his own major league experience to Tulsa listeners, having previously served as a radio broadcaster with the San Francisco Giants. In addition to his major league work, Higgins has 15 years experience of calling action in the minor leagues.

All 140 Drillers regular season games will be aired live.  Occasional scheduling conflicts, such as weekday, afternoon games, will force some games to air on KAKC, AM 1300.

The live broadcasts will also be available over the Internet at TulsaDrillers.com or at 1430TheBuzz.com.

The Buzz is a 24-hour sports station that also airs University of Oklahoma sports, the Dan Patrick Show and the Jim Rome Show.
