Trent Shores to be U.S. District Attorney

U.S Sens. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) and James Lankford (R-Okla.) Thursday applauded President Trump’s nomination of R. Trent Shores to be U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma.

The U.S. attorney serves as the chief federal law enforcement officer within his federal judicial district. 

“Trent Shores has proven himself to be both fair and consistent in applying the law,” Inhofe said. “As a the current assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma, Trent knows the issues and people well. He has a long history of working with the Department of Justice and will represent the people of the Northern District with the same professionalism and honor people have come to expect from him. I applaud President Trump on selecting Trent and look forward to his quick Senate confirmation.”

“Trent is a great candidate to serve as a U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma because of his experience and commitment to enforce the rule of law,” said Lankford. “Trent’s years of work in Oklahoma make him exceptionally qualified to serve as one of Oklahoma’s U.S. attorneys.”

Mr. Shores is currently an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Oklahoma, where he prosecutes human trafficking and child exploitation, drug-trafficking organizations, public corruption, and white-collar crime. He also serves as the national security cyber specialist for the Northern District.  Mr. Shores previously served as first assistant attorney general for the state of Oklahoma and deputy director for the Department of Justice’s Office of Tribal Justice, where he developed initiatives to promote public safety in Indian Country. Mr. Shores graduated from Vanderbilt University and the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
