RAPID CITY, SD — The Tulsa Oilers concluded their season series with the Rapid City Rush over the weekend as they traveled north to the Rushmore Civic Center for a pair of games that extended and then ended a season-long win streak.

On Friday night, the Oilers nabbed an overtime win off the stick of  Dave Pszenyczny, who lifted a backhand over Rush goalie John Griggs with just 15 seconds remaining in the extra session to give Tulsa its fifth consecutive win and sixth straight road triumph.

I-244 improvement project begins

I244A bumpy section of Interstate 244 in Tulsa is on its way to being smoothed out over the next 15 months thanks in part to quick action by the Legislature to provide state funding aimed at improving the section of roadway.

Beginning today, the first of two projects along I-244 are underway. The first project replaces three miles of pavement on the freeway between 73rd Ave. East and Delaware Ave. Various lane and ramp closures will occur during the construction.

Former Republican presidential candidate, U.S. Senator, and Chairman of Patriot Voices Rick Santorum has named Terry Allen as National Field Director and Senior Advisor for Patriot Voices PAC, a well-known force in Oklahoma politics and graduate of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa. Allen will be directing all national political operations for Patriot Voices PAC and coordinating and organizing grassroots efforts for the PAC in all 50 states.

Entertainment figure Byron Allen is among a group of black media owners that filed a $20 billion discrimination lawsuit against Comcast and Time Warner Cable — both huge media players and frequently significant contributors to left-leaning political causes such as the “brothers by another mother” Al Sharpton and President Barack Obama.

The independent-minded highly successful Allen on MSNBC called employment of the network’s most inane if not mentally disabled host, Al Sharpton, “a sham, undertaken to whitewash Comcast’s discriminatory business practices.”
