Drillers done; Tulsa goes down to the wire with Northwest Arkansas.

The Drillers took it to the last three games of the season, but the Northwest Arkansas Naturals crushed their playoff hopes with a 9th inning strike Sunday evening that resulted in a walk off 4-3 victory.

With the score tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth inning and a runner of first, Eric Hosmer lined a base hit into the right field corner that scored the Naturals' game-winning run. The devastating defeat officially eliminates the Drillers from the postseason

ECU downs Tulsa 51-49 on last second TD strike

A last-second, hail mary touchdown pass spoiled the season opener for the University of Tulsa on Sunday in Greenville, North Carolina. The Golden Hurricane led 49-45 with 1:22 remaining, before the East Carolina Pirates drove 66 yards on nine plays to steal the 51-49 victory in a Conference USA shootout in front of 50,010 fans and a national television audience.

Avalanche warning: Tulsa Oilers announce NHL affiliation.

Partnership also includes affiliation with Lake Erie of the AHL.

TULSA, OK-- For the first time in the teams post-1992 history, the Tulsa Oilers are part of an NHL farm system.  Oilers coach Bruce Ramsay announced Thursday that the team would be the Central Hockey League affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL and the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League.

TU football: Single-game tickets on sale today

As the weather cools down and September creeps in, it can only mean one thing; football season is among us. The University of Tulsa opens it's season on Sunday in a nationally televised game at two-timealt defending Conference USA champion East Carolina. The Golden Hurricane then return home to open the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, September 11.

Single game tickets to all six home games are set to go on sale today at 8:30 a.m. Tickets are reasonably priced at $15, $25 and $35 and may be purchased at the Donald W. Reynolds Center athletic ticket office or online at the official TU athletic site. The Golden Hurricane will host Bowling Green, Central Arkansas, Tulane, Rice, UTEP and Southern Mississippi this season.
