Hobby Lobby must violate its faith

Monday a federal court denied a request to halt enforcement of the abortion pill mandate which forces the Christian-owned-and-operated Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., to provide the “morning after pill” and “week after pill” in their health insurance plan, or face crippling fines up to $1.3 million dollars per day.

Hobby Lobby sues over mandate

Today, Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a privately held retail chain with more than 500 arts and crafts stores in 41 states, filed a lawsuit in the US District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, opposing the Health and Human Services “preventive services” mandate, which forces the Christian-owned-and-operated business to provide, without co-pay, the “morning after pill” and “week after pill” in their health insurance plan, or face crippling fines up to 1.3 million dollars per day.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Leather Butterfly Chairs
Units: About 500
Importer: Hobby Lobby Stores, of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Hazard: The chair legs can detach unexpectedly causing the chair to collapse, posing a fall hazard to consumers.

The “Naughty” And “Nice” List

altThe American Family Association has launched its annual “Naughty or Nice” listing of the nation’s top retailers and how they recognize Christmas.

The Christian organization reviewed several ares to determine if a company was “Christmas-friendly” in their advertising, including print, broadcast, web sites and personal visits to the store.

“Nice” stores include: Amazon, Bass Pro, Hobby Lobby, Home Depot, K-mart, Lowe’s, Target and Walgreens.

“Naughty” stores include: Barnes and Noble, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Gap, Kroger, McDonald’s, Olive Garden and Victoria’s Secret. These were companies that refuse to use the world “Christmas” in their advertising.
