Carolyn Thompson, a broker with Keller Williams Realty in Sand Springs, has been chosen to participate in the 2008 LeadershipOAR class, a project of the Oklahoma Association of REALTORS® (OAR). The 14 people chosen from around the state are considered future leaders of the real estate industry in Oklahoma. The group meets throughout the year to learn leadership and business skills to apply personally, professionally and in their communities.
A third generation Sandite, Thompson specializes in residential real estate and has been in the industry for more than 10 years. She has earned her ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) designation which shows her clients that she specializes in working for buyers. “I enjoy my career in real estate. It allows me the time to be active in Limestone PTO and watching my kids play sports while still helping people find their dream home,” explained Thompson.
Thompson has been active in her local board, the Greater Tulsa Association of REALTORS®. At Keller Williams, she has been a member of the Associate Leadership Council for six years.
The journey began last summer as nominations poured in from around the state to join the 2008 LeadershipOAR class. A selection committee sifted through numerous applications to choose the 14 REALTORS® who would have the opportunity to be a part of this year’s class. The group meets at five retreats throughout the year, each in a different part of the state so that each member gains a better understanding of the variety of communities that make up Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Association of REALTORS®, "The Voice for Real Estate in Oklahoma," was established in 1921 and is one of Oklahoma’s largest trade associations, representing almost 11,000 members involved in all aspects of the real estate industry.
