Roughnecks FC begin USL season play

Tulsa’s Kosuke Kimura & Jaoquin Rivas in St. Louis last Saturday.

The Tulsa Roughnecks FC with a very successful preseason are set to begin the 2017 USL season this Satruday night against the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. Kickoff for the match is set for 7:00 pm at ONEOK Field.

One most remarkable preseason match was against the Chicago Fire, Tulsa’ Major League Soccer affiliate. The Roughnecks battled the parent club to a 2-1 decision.  Continue reading

Roughnecks FC begin rebuilding season

The Tulsa Roughnecks FC may turn a corner in 2017.

In the club’s sophomore season, the Roughnecks went 5-21-4 and finished dead last (15th place) in the USL Western Conference.  Changes were needed, and they came fast and furious once the sun set on the 2016 season.  First order of business was a new coach, David Vandereuil.   Continue reading

Tulsa Football signs 23 talents

Tulsa Head Football Coach Philip Montgomery

University of Tulsa Head Football Coach Philip Montgomery announced today a signing class of 23 players who will join the Golden Hurricane football team for the 2017 season, as well as adding one preferred walk-on.

Coach Montgomery said, “I think it’s probably the best class that we’ve put together from top to bottom since I’ve been here. We’ve added a lot of length, a lot of athleticism, a lot of speed. We’ve addressed some needs.” Continue reading

OU crushes Auburn in Sugar Bowl

Oklahoma won the Sugar Bowl on Monday against Auburn, 35-19. The Sooners had just a 14-13 lead at halftime, but they dominated the second half and cruised to victory.

The game wasn’t ultimately close. The Sooners (Big-12) out-gained the Tigers (SEC) by a 524-339 margin, and it became a real blowout by the end according to SBNation.com.

Results & Analysis: For many, it is not Colin Kaepernick’s protest, but the National Football League (NFL) reaction or lack thereof that reduced audience loyalty according to a new survey.

Remington Research Group conducted a national public opinion survey regarding the NFL on topic December 11th through December 12th and 1,945 respondents participated.
