TULSA, OK—When younger, Schoolhouse Rock taught us that eight is great.  The Shock is there.

The Shock defeated the New York Liberty 71-62 on Friday night, and survived the Seattle Storm 93-89 on Sunday, giving them their seventh and eighth win of the 2015 WNBA season.

Pierson lifts Shock to fifth straight

ShockWNBLThe astonishing rebirth of the Tulsa Shock continues.

Two big wins over the weekend have landed what once was the afterthought of the WNBA in first place in the Western Conference with a record of 6-1.

The Shock defeated the Washington Mystics 86-82 on Friday night and the Minnesota Lynx 86-78 on Sunday. They will return home this Friday night for a contest with the New York Liberty and will remain home for a 6pm game with the Seattle Storm on Sunday.

TULSA, OK—Oh yes, you can call it a streak.

For only the second time in franchise history…going back to the years when the team called Michigan home…the Tulsa Shock have a winning record to start a season. The team vaulted to 4-1 in the young 2015 season with an 88-61 victory over the San Antonio Stars on Tuesday afternoon at BOK Center.

Special Olympics torch to visit Guthrie Green

SpecialOlympics15aThis year the Special Olympics World games are to be held in Los Angeles later this summer and the torch relay, billed as the Flame Of Hope relay, will make a stop this weekend at Guthrie Green located in the Brady Arts District in downtown Tulsa.

Every two years, Special Olympics athletes come together to compete at the Special Olympics World Games. This summer, over 7,000 athletes from 177 countries will descend upon Los Angeles while demonstrating the true meaning of courage, joy and determination.

Shock see Stars in third straight win

ShockWNBLSAN ANTONIO, TX—They’ve learned how to get the job done.

The Tulsa Shock (3-1) defeated the San Antonio Stars 73-62 in the AT&T Center on Sunday evening to extend their current win streak to three and extend the Tulsa team’s first winning record since the 2010 relocation front Detroit.

After a 30-minute delay in the start of the game due to leaks in the roof of the AT&T Center, the Shock took control of the game and never looked back.
