Balancing Oklahoma’s checkbook

OkCashCowOpinion:  Oklahoma will collect more than $8 billion in taxes in 2015. Since 2009, our state’s revenue has increased by almost 2 percent per year. With that sum of money, and five years of consistent growth, it is hard to believe our state has a $611 million shortfall this year.

However, the budget committee’s failure to consider obvious trends and instead grossly overestimate the state’s income guaranteed financial problems. In fact, it rejected the warnings of budget committee members trained in finance who predicted a shortfall.

My concern with the Iran nuclear negotiations

IranNuclear1Amidst the various twists and turns of our nation’s negotiation with Iran on a nuclear deal, one thing is clear: the American people are skeptical.

Americans know that a nuclear Iran is a threat to every nation.

Our concern is not just Iran in possession of a nuclear bomb; we all know that the leadership of Iran continues to threaten its neighbors and the World. Iran is the world’s largest state-sponsor of terrorism and there is little doubt that if they had nuclear weapons, they could transfer those weapons or nuclear material to their global terror proxies.

Just when many have come to believe both coasts are comprised only of frothing idiotic Leftists, uncredited conservative art with a message has emerged In the Brooklyn area of New York near Hillary Clinton’s new campaign headquarters.

The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper reports that “a source sends along these photos” in a Sunday post “of anti-Hillary Clinton signs everywhere.” Clinton announced her presidential campaign Sunday afternoon.

GayServiceVideo Report: Indiana has been demonized in a firestorm of controversy for passing the Religious Freedom Rights Act, a bill, like Oklahoma’s, designed to protect retail businesses that refuse service on principle to certain customers, namely Christian-owned businesses and LGBT customers.

And while Christians have been widely painted as intolerant of other people’s lifestyle choices, there’s been effectively no discussion about other religions that may also have a disapproval of homosexuality.

Carly Fiorina: Apple’s Tim Cook a ‘Hypocrite’

Updated: Breitbart.com has an excellent article outlining expected Republican Candidate for President Carly Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO, expressing disgust at Apple’s Tim Cook over-acting on laws securing religious freedom. Now, Right Wing News is calling on Apple to live up to its principles by pulling out of countries that murder their citizens for being gay.

Fiorina, said many attacking Indiana over its religious freedom law are bowing to “narrow special interests” and ignoring the larger base of opinion over the situation, especially Cook.
