Kathryn L. Taylor accepted the oath as Tulsa Mayor today at 2 pm in the Vista Room of Gilcrease Museum. Promising to lead Tulsa, “not left, not right, but forward,” Taylor reiterated her primary campaign themes of public safety, economic development, and education.
Gracious in victory, Mayor Taylor thanked former-mayor Bill LaFortune and his family for their service to the community and his help during the transition. All three County Commissioners attended as did former-mayors Susan Savage and Roger Randle.
City Auditor Phil Wood was sworn into office next with the new City Council following.
Former-radio host John Erling emceed the festivities and apparently felt it necessary to double as a mike-stand. Many city politicians, pundits, former councilors, and city employees attended robustly cheering the new administration.
