Nashville rising star and Native Tulsan Dara Tucker returns with her trio to the city May 18th, at the Jazz Depot.
“Tucker is a new fresh, hip and contemporary vocalist who handles the traditional, as well as the flavored style of neo-soul … Her band is hotter than the 4th of July!” said Jazz Hall CEO, Chuck Cissel.
Her web site notes, “Born into a musical family, Dara Tucker began her love affair with singing at an early age. The product of a music minister father and songstress mother, Dara began singing in church at age 5. By age 8, she was playing simple melodies on the piano and soon began accompanying her brothers and sisters at performances.
Both her web site and Myspace page offer recorded clips of original jazz and standard jazz arrangements. For more information see www.okjazz.org or call 918.596.1001.
