This is the weekend Tulsa celebrates spring downtown. With two major festivals running, Mayfest and the Blue Dome, there is a plethora to please almost any artistic, musical and culinary taste. In behalf of the growing number of us who live and work in the core of Tulsa’s business district – welcome.
Those who invest their private money and time building Tulsa’s core neighborhood are glad you visit and invite you to consider joining us. Tulsa’s downtown is only now beginning to show what many have worked for years to accomplish. Streets are under construction. Old buildings are being repaired. Public projects are proceeding.
Public dollars are visible as the new BOK Arena fast approaches completion with the design a striking addition to the downtown skyline. Street projects throughout downtown are also speeding along, but please be careful to slow down in the many small construction zones as workers are everywhere.
Please check the respective festival web sites for artists and vender locations and music schedules. Click here for Mayfest and click here for the Blue Dome. Festival hours are 11:00 am to 11:30 pm Friday and Saturday and 11:00 am to 6:00 pm Sunday. Both festivals are free to the public.
As we can get our news hounds on site then back to their computers, we will have more photos and stories. Check back over the weekend if you like, but the real fun is on the streets of downtown Tulsa.
