Tulsa TEA Parties ready

Wednesday April 15 citizens will gather in protest.  Named to honor the most famous populist independence party in history and, in 2009, for Taxed Enough Already – TEA Parties are brewing in over 1,115 cities nationwide.  Over 30 TEA Parties will be held in Oklahoma and Tulsans are planning three such gatherings.

Far from radical, these protests target recent massive increases in government spending, nationalization of significant portions of private enterprise, massive debt our grandchildren my not live long enough to repay, and what many believe is a lack of responsible behavior by elected and appointed Federal officials.

From conversations with organizers, it is clear that, for many, this is the first time they have publicly protested anything in their lives.  Different organizations and different media are helping to sponsor events, but the basic point is that American citizens are uniting in growing numbers to protest change that they believe threatens the economic future and freedom of this and ever succeeding generation of Americans.

Should you go?  Ask yourself this question: Are liberties, profits, and freedoms provided by government and thus properly limited by decree and/or debt or are they entitled by God to each human directly and thus reduced by each increase of government regulation and taxation?
