ImageCity offices will be closed Friday, Sept. 4, and Monday, Sept. 7, for the Labor Day holiday and a furlough day due to budget reductions in Fiscal Year 2010.
However, public safety and other critical operations will remain open. The City Council will not meet either Tuesday,Sept. 8, or Thursday, Sept. 10.
Trash service will operate as usual on Friday, Sept. 4. However, residential refuse collection will not occur on Monday, Sept. 7, due to the Labor Day holiday. Customers with Monday and Thursday track pickup, may leave twice the normal allowable amount at the curb for pickup on their next service day, which will be Thursday, Sept. 10. Customers whose trash is picked up once a week are not affected, because Monday is not a usual service day. Curbside recycling customers, however, will receive service on Monday, Sept. 7.
The City of Tulsa greenwaste site, 10401 East 56th Street North, will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7. It will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 8, with normal hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The greenwaste site is open daily, including weekends, except for designated City holidays.
The City of Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter, 3031 North Erie Avenue, will be open Friday, Sept. 4, but will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7. The shelter’s usual schedule is Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.
Both City golf courses – Mohawk and Page Belcher, as well as the Tulsa Zoo, will be open both Friday, Sept. 4, and Monday, Sept. 7. Gilcrease Museum will be closed on Labor Day, Sept. 7.
Tulsa Parks recreation centers will be closed Friday, Sept. 4, through Monday, Sept. 7. Those who have reservations for park shelters must make arrangements by 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, to pick up keys.
Tulsa Transit buses will not be running on Sept. 7. For more information, call 582-2100.
