TULSA, OK. – The Tulsa Shock announced today that they have signed free agent forward Ashley Walker. The signing brings the Shock roster back to 11 after the team traded Shavonte Zellous last week to the Indiana Fever for a 2011 second round draft pick. Walker saw action in 13 games last season with the Seattle Storm and averaged 1.8 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in just under seven minutes of playing time.
Walker, a University of California product, had three points and three rebounds for the Storm during a pre-season contest against the Shock at the BOK Center on May 9. Walker will make her Shock debut on Friday night when the Shock (2-3) will host the Minnesota Lynx (2-5) in a 7 p.m. tip-off at the BOK Center. Tickets are available at the BOK Center box office, online or by calling 599-WNBA.
