Turnover-prone Vigilantes hand Tulsa their second road win of the season.
DALLAS, TX–Talons QB Justin Allgood went 37-of-25 for 384 yards passing and 8 TDs, and Donovan Morgan caught 5 touchdowns as the Tulsa Talons handed the Dallas Vigilantes a 69-51 defeat in the American Airlines Center on Friday night.
Carlese Franklin caught two touchdowns and Jeff Hughley one as the Talons scored their second victory over the Vigilantes this season. Dallas did not back down from the Talons advances, however. The Vigilantes stopped the Tulsa offense on the very first series and intercepted Allgood on an attempted touchdown pass in the end zone. Dallas had the lead for most of the first half and the teams went into the halftime intermission with Dallas leading the Talons by 3 points 31-28.
The Talons went on an unanswered 20-point run and never looked back. Jamar Ransom intercepted a pass in the 3rd quarter and gave Allgood an opportunity to launch a 39 yard strike to Jeff Hughley. In the end the Vigilantes QB Collin Drafts threw 3 interceptions allowing the Talons to score twice, and that was pretty much all she wrote as the Talons handed Dallas their 6th loss in a row.
The Talons move to 6-4 and the Vigilantes to 1-8 on the season. Both teams are on the road next weekend as Tulsa travel to Spokane to meet the Shock, the team that ended their bid for a 3rd af2 title last season, and Dallas travels to Huntsville to take on Alabama.
Tulsa returns home to meet the Cleveland Gladiators on June 26th in the amazing BOK Center.
