Ransom, a member of the Talons since 2006, made the All-AFL 2nd team in 2010 while leading the Talons in tackles with 92, 58 of them being solo. In arena football having a linebacker lead a team in tackles is rare because the ball is thrown so often. However, due to his speed and tenaciousness, Ransom is always around the ball. He also finished the season with 6 interceptions, 1 forced fumble and 2 defensive touchdowns.

The Oklahoma State product was a major part of the Talons goal line offensive as well. He often ran the ball or was a target out of the backfield for Talons’ quarterbacks. Ransom finished the season with 4 offensive touchdowns.

“Jamar has been the heart and soul of our defense the past couple of years. His knowledge of the game and intensity on the field is something that is difficult to find. He is basically the quarterback of our defense and we’re going to count on him to bring along some of the younger guys that we will have this season. It’s great to know number 44 will be back this year,” said Talons Head Coach Mitch Allner.
