Governor Mary Fallin today announced the following appointments to various boards, agencies and commissions. Included on the list are several distinguished active Tulsans. The organization and brief qualification summary of the appointees follow:
Board of Trustees for the Quartz Mountain Arts and Conference Center and Nature Park
Warren Greenlee of Altus is president of NBC Bank in Altus. He is the current chairman of the Oklahoma Arts Institute, and is a past chairman of both the American Bankers Association Agricultural and Rural Bankers Committee and the Oklahoma Bankers Association. Greenlee earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Oklahoma State University. He is being reappointed to the board for a seven-year term. The appointment requires Senate confirmation.
Mary Scott of Mangum is director of federal programs, special education and state testing at Mangum Public Schools. Scott serves as treasurer for both the Mangum Education Foundation and the Mangum High School Alumni Association. She earned a degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State College. She is replacing Stephen Scott, her late husband, and will fulfill the remainder of his term. Senate confirmation is required for this appointment.
Construction Industries Board
Scott Tucker of Bixby is project manager for Omni Mechanical in Tulsa. He holds both plumbing and mechanical licenses. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Bixby and the Association of General Contractors of Oklahoma. He earned a degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He is replacing Tom O’Donnell. Senate confirmation is required.
Physician Manpower Training Commission
Dr. Joe Leverett of Altus is medical director of Integris Family Care Clinic Altus. Leverett is a board certified physician in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and serves on the Integris Physicians Services Board. He also serves as chairman of the Altus Military Affairs Committee. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Leverett is replacing Pam Ahearn and will serve a five-year term. Senate confirmation is required.
Board of Regents for Redlands Community College
Kent Carder of El Reno is a chiropractic physician and operates the Carder Chiropractic Clinic. Carder is an executive board member of the Oklahoma State Chiropractic Independent Physicians Association. He is a charter member of the American Chiropractic Association. He is a member of the El Reno Lions Club and the El Reno Chapter of the Masonic Lodge. He earned a doctorate degree from the Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Mo. Carder is replacing Linda Langmacher, who resigned, and will serve a seven-year term. Senate confirmation is required.
State Board of Corrections
T. Hastings Siegfried of Tulsa is the vice chairman and chief operating officer of NORDAM. He is currently on the board of directors for the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs and chairman of the State Chamber of Oklahoma. He also serves on the board of directors at the Tulsa Metro Chamber and at the General Aviation Manufactures Association. Siegfried received a bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame University in South Bend, Ind. He is replacing Gerald Wright and will serve a six-year term. Confirmation from the Senate is required for his appointment.
Gene Haynes of Claremore is a criminal defense attorney. He previously served as the district attorney for Rogers, Mayes and Craig counties, a position he held for 23 years. Haynes is a past chairman of the Oklahoma District Attorney’s Council and currently serves on the Board of Education for Sequoyah Public Schools. He also is the current president and founding member of Rogers County Drug Abuse Program. Haynes received both a bachelor’s and law degree from the University of Oklahoma. Haynes is replacing Matthew McBee and will serve a six-year term. Confirmation from the Senate is required for his appointment.
Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission
Keith Sanders of Atoka worked for more than 30 years as an executive in the furniture manufacturing industry. He also served as an auditor at the Oklahoma Tax Commission. He served in the U.S. Air Force where he achieved the rank of captain. He currently serves as chairman of the Atoka County GOP. Sanders received a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University. He is replacing Wayne Carter and will serve a six-year term. Confirmation from the Senate is required for his appointment.
Stanton Harrell of Claremore is an attorney and owns Harrell Law Office. He is on the board of directors at Rogers County Drug Court and on the board of directors for Rogers County Youth Services. Harrell received a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah and a law degree from the University of Tulsa. He is replacing Malcolm Savage and will serve a six-year term. Confirmation from the Senate is required for his appointment.
