The signature California sound of the Beach Boys will be rockin’ the Event Center at River Spirit Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18.

The Beach Boys are regarded by many as an important catalyst in the evolution of popular music. The band is known for their vocal harmonies and for creating a signature sound which celebrated the Southern California culture of surfing, cars and romance.

The Beach Boys had 36 Top 40 hits, which is the most of any U.S. rock band, and 56 Hot 100 hits, including four #1 singles. Rolling Stone magazine listed The Beach Boys as #12 in their 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame 10 years later. The Beach Boys received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001 and were inducted into the Hit Parade Hall of Fame in 2007.

Today, the Beach Boys are led by Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, who along with Christian Love, Randell Kirsch, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill and Scott Totten continue the legacy of the iconic American band.
