The Weekly Fishing Report released today by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation has good news for hearty fisher folk.

NORTHEAST

Ft. Gibson: December 4. Elevation above normal, water 45 and clear. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 15-20 ft. along creek channels, docks and coves. Blue, flathead and channel catfish fair on cut bait and shad at 15 ft. along the river channel and creek channels. Report submitted by Rick Stafford.

Kaw: December 7. Elevation rising, water 40 and clear. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 12-20 ft. around brush structure and riprap. Blue catfish fair on juglines baited with cut bait and shad at 12-20 ft. in the main lake. Report submitted by Spencer Grace, game warden stationed in Kay County.

Lower Illinois: December 7. Elevation normal, water 50-55 and clear. Trout good on orange Power Bait and in-line spinnerbaits below the dam, tailwaters, riffles below the dam and deep holes. Report submitted by Jeremy Bersche, game warden stationed in Sequoyah County.

McMurtry: December 9. Elevation below normal, water 58 and clear. Crappie fair on minnows, jigs and worms at 6-12 ft. around docks, points and brush structure; most fishing activity has been from docks with minnows. Report submitted by Jared Avilez, Park Operations Manager at Lake McMurtry.

Tenkiller: December 8. Elevation 4 ft. below normal, water mid 50s and clear. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass slow on plastic baits and jigs at 10-20 ft. around brush structure and the main lake. Crappie slow on minnows and tube jigs at 15-20 ft. around brush structure and docks. Report submitted by Monte Brooks of Cookson, OK.

CENTRAL

Arcadia: December 10. Elevation 1/2 ft. above normal, water clear. White bass fair on lipless baits and chrome gay blades. Channel and blue catfish fair on cut bait along Arrowhead Point and riprap. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around riprap. Report submitted by Sheila Hutton.

BassFishing1Hefner: December 9. Elevation below normal, water 44-47 and clear. White bass and striped bass hybrids good on grubs and jigs in chartreuse and white at 10-15 ft. along the dam and riprap. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 15-28 ft. along riprap and dam. Walleye fair on grubs and jerk baits at 8-10 ft. along riprap and the dam at daylight and late evening. Channel and blue catfish good on chicken liver and cut bait at 20-40 ft. along riprap and the dam. Report submitted by Lucky Lure Tackle.

SOUTHEAST

Arbuckle: December 6. Elevation below normal, water 52 and clear to stained. Crappie fair on minnows, jigs and spoons at 15-36 ft. around brush structure, creek channels and weed beds and at 25-35 ft. around brush piles. White bass fair on Alabama rigs, spoons, crankbaits, sassy shad and CC spoons in chrome at 6-37 ft. around coves, points and creek channels. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass fair on crankbaits, jerk baits, jigs and Alabama rigs at 6-15 ft. around brush structure, riprap, points and steeper banks. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

Blue River: December 8. Elevation normal, water 50 and clear. Trout excellent on Power Bait, in-line spinnerbaits, spoons, near deers, woolly buggers, flashbacks and egg patterns at 3-6 ft. below waterfalls and downstream of breaks in current. Approximately 2,400 rainbow trout were stocked on December 4. Channel catfish fair on stinkbait, chicken liver and cut bait at 4-7 ft. around rocks, channels and current in deeper pools. Report submitted by Matt Gamble, biologist at the Blue River Public Fishing and Hunting Area.

Eufaula: December 7. Elevation 3 ft. below normal, water clear. Largemouth bass slow. White bass slow. Blue catfish fair on fresh shad along shallow flats. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around docks with brush and riprap areas. Report submitted by Ed Rodebush, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

Robert S. Kerr: December 8. Elevation normal, water murky. Blue, flathead and channel catfish excellent on cut bait, live bait and chicken liver in the river channel and the main lake. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around channels and brush structure. Report submitted by Dane Polk, game warden stationed in Pushmataha County.

Texoma: December 6. Elevation below normal, water 62 and clear. Largemouth and smallmouth bass fair on crankbaits and plastic baits at 15-20 ft. around brush structure and creek channels. Striped and white bass good on live shad, sassy shad and slabs at 15-20 ft. in the main lake and river channel. Channel and blue catfish fair on live bait, worms and stinkbait at 10-20 ft. along coves, riprap, the river channel and cleaning stations. Crappie and sunfish fair on minnows, tube jigs and small lures at 5-20 ft. around docks and brush structure. Report submitted by Danny Club, game warden stationed in Bryan County.

SOUTHWEST

Foss: December 8. Elevation 18 1/2 ft. below normal with gates closed, water mid 40s and clear. Striped bass hybrids fair on slabs in deep water. Walleye slow on live bait. Crappie slow on live bait. Catfish slow. Report submitted by Eric Puyear, B&K Bait House.

Tom Steed: December 8. Elevation below normal, water 42. Blue and channel catfish good on cut bait and shad on bottom along flats. Report submitted by David Smith, game warden stationed in Kiowa County.
