On Tuesday evening, Senator James Lankford (R-OK) met with former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri to discuss Lebanon, the current conflicts with Iran, and continued unrest in the Middle East.

“It was an honor to meet with the former Prime Minister of Lebanon Saad Hariri to discuss events in the Middle East,” said Lankford. “Clearly, Iran’s growing boldness in the region concerns many of its neighbors.

The growing unrest underscores the need for continued U.S. engagement in the world. America must not turn a blind eye to Iran’s irresponsible behavior and rhetoric while negotiating to give them nuclear enrichment capabilities and additional oil sales revenues,” Lankford added.

IranNuclear1This week, the Senate is debating the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act, bipartisan legislation that would give the American people a voice in what is likely to be the most significant nuclear arms agreement this decade. Senator Bob Corker (R-TN), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, announced on Tuesday that the bill now has 67 Senate sponsors, which is enough to override a presidential veto.
