There appears to be a mistaken belief on the Left that any government action is either done in the interest of “the people” or in the interest of corporations and rich oligarchs. So the naked corporate welfare to Archer Daniels Midlands is called out, as are the sports stadiums being paid for by taxpayers, and of course the banker bailouts as well. (Although, it should be noted that congressional Democrats voted in support of TARP by a rate of three to one, whereas a slight majority of Republicans opposed it.)

AP FACT CHECK: Clinton, Sanders revise history
By David Arnett

Analysis: The Associated Press (AP) is reporting today that Hillary Rodham Clinton revised history in the Democratic debate when insisting she’s not a flip-flopper on a trade deal she promoted as secretary of state but turned against as a presidential candidate.
Bernie Sanders overstated the share of wealth being taken by the richest Americans, a subject that goes to the core of his campaign.
The AP took a detailed look at some of the claims in the debate and how they compare with the facts. That review reflects a Gallup Poll earlier in the month asking how people in each party view government.
WOTUS blocked nationwide
By Staff Report
Attorney General Scott Pruitt on Friday said a federal appeals court granted a request by his office and 17 other states to block the implementation of the EPA’s “waters of the United States” rule nationwide.
In a published decision, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Oklahoma and the other states proved they were likely to succeed on the merits of their various lawsuits challenging the rule, known as the WOTUS rule. The court said staying enforcement of the rule “temporarily silences the whirlwind of confusion” caused by the WOTUS rule and “honors the policy of cooperative federalism” by returning power to the states. This is the second federal court to decide that the WOTUS rule is likely unlawful; no court has decided otherwise.
Study examines police killing of unarmed civilians
By Staff Report
A new study based on the open-source, open-standards, StreetCred® Police Killings in Context (PKIC) data project reveals that the number of unarmed civilians killed in confrontations with police is substantially lower than commonly stated in the media.
At the same time, 11 officers have been arrested and indicted in five cases that appeared to prosecutors to be unjustified. The non-partisan PKIC project seeks to provide objective data and contextual facts on deadly force incidents to researchers, communities, activists, journalists and law enforcement advocacy groups.
Ground Zero Mosque defeated!
By David Arnett
The Breitbart.com story is exuberant in detailing reports in a sub-headline, “The infamous Ground Zero Mosque project is officially dead. We won. We the People.”
What is strange is the lack of national media coverage on this story. How very odd. You would think another stunning defeat for President Obama would be worthy of note.
