LOS ANGELES – For the first time in over 17 years, The Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood is returning to Tulsa, Oklahoma!

The concerts will be Thursday, January 15th 7:00 PM, Friday, January 16th 7:00 PM and Saturday, January 17th 7:00 PM at BOK Center.

Garth Brooks’ first new studio album in 13 years, MAN AGAINST MACHINE, will be released on November 11th.

Tickets will be on sale Friday, November 14th at 10:00 AM CST. There will be an eight ticket limit per purchase.

Dave Pietro joins NSU Jazz ensemble

Those who love live jazz have heard Tommy Poole play saxophone locally, usually in tandem with other top-drawer musicians on a national and international level.

Poole is also a renown composer, but Sunday’s Jazz Depot show he’s Dr. Tommy Poole, the director of jazz studies and assistant professor of music at Northeastern State University, bringing his 18-person NSU Jazz Ensemble to town.

“I’ve got a lot of great soloists in the ensemble, and I don’t want to take any spotlight time away from them,” he says, by way of explaining why he won’t be playing sax on the show. “I also want people to know that Dave Pietro is one of the great alto players of our time as well as a dynamic performer. He’s very exciting to watch as well as to listen to. After hearing him with Maria Schneider’s group, I listened to his own small-group CDs, and I thought, `Wow. This is a fantastic player.’ ”

Lennox labeled Bey “feminist lite” in an interview at the end of September. Talking with NPR in a recent interview, Lennox attempted to clarify her stance.

Walk of courage in faith brings hope

Tennessee Pastor Walter “Chick” McGill, a 68 year-old Vietnam Veteran, is walking coast to coast, carrying a large American flag while saluting every passing motorist as a gesture of good will and respect to his fellow Americans.

McGill told Tulsa Today in an exclusive interview, “This was not my idea, but God’s. He sustains me.”

McGill said he was deeply concerned, if not depressed, about America, but took courage from 2 Chronicles 7:14 which reads, “If my people who bear my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my presence and turn from their wicked ways, I myself will hear from heaven and forgive their sins and restore their land.” (The Jerusalem Bible)

Harvest Festival starts Wednesday

HarvestFestivalUpdated: The Harvest Music Festival at Mulberry Mountain kicks off their ninth season with yoga, trail walks and music, lots and lots of folk and eclectic music. The four day event (Wednesday, October 15 to Saturday, the 18) is located outside of Ozark, Arkansas. The Harvest Music Festival is the scenic route off the Top 40 Interstate.

This festival is a unique opportunity for music fans to hear innovative groups from around the United States.
