Martin Luther King condemned both sides

Martin Luther King Jr.

Whenever President Donald Trump — or any political leader — stands up to condemn all of the violence at a national tragedy such as Charlottesville, Va. regardless of the causes, political or otherwise, those calls should be embraced, lest the result be that some forms of political violence be justified — and perpetuated as a consequence.

That was what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. preached. He said, “Hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness. We must meet the forces of hate with the power of love… Our aim must never be to defeat or humiliate the white man, but to win his friendship and understanding.”  Continue reading

What REALLY happened in Charlottesville

Opinion:  Ok folks, here’s what everyone is missing.

This past weekend I was honored to be in a most picturesque place with some great and hospitable folks in Prescott (Yavapai County) Arizona. I was there to address the Republican Women of Prescott, the nation’s largest Republican women’s club, on their 75th anniversary. The scenery there was just breathtaking and there was just a sense of solemnness that we all need experience from time to time. The Power of Deconstruction

If you live in an urban or metropolitan area, you have likely observed the process of a building being torn down to make room for a new building to be located in the same spot.  Decaying buildings often keep underlying value from being available and apparent.

This is true in our own lives as we often get into certain habits and patterns that become permanent fixtures without making conscious decisions or even being aware that it is happening.  Continue reading

North Korea pops another ballistic

Reports out of Japan are breaking that North Korea’s Kim Jong-un has fired another ballistic test missile said to have landed off the coast of Japan.

England’s Sun newspaper begins “TYRANNICAL Kim Jong-un has today fired another ballistic test missile thought to have landed off the coast of Japan.”  We have additional adjectives to describe Kim. Continue reading
