TU hosts region championships

Michael D. Case Tennis Center, Tulsa UniversityThe University of Tulsa men’s tennis will host the Wilson/ITA Central Region Champions from October 24-28 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center of the TU campus.  Pre-qualifying begins today at 10:00 am.

Featured teams from the central region are:  Tulsa, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, ORU, Arkansas, Creighton, Drake, Nebraska, Wichita State, St. Louis, Illinois State, Arkansas-Little Rock and Southern Illinois.

There will be two round of pre-qualifying on Wednesday, October 24.  The main draw will begin Thursday, October 25, with spots to the 2007 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Tennis Championships hosted by Ohio State on the line.

The Michael D. Case Tennis Center includes a 54,000 square foot tennis pavilion with spectator seating, conditioning and training facilities, lounges, essential support facilities including bath and locker rooms, lighted outdoor courts and indoor courts, and electronic scoreboards.

Vince Westbrook, director of the tennis program and Tulsa’s men’s tennis coach said at the dedication, “This tennis center is of the caliber that most coaches can only dream.”
