Susan Martinez, MA, LMFT, a local Licensed Marital and Family Therapist, is now certified to teach a national parenting program called The Happiest Baby. The Happiest Baby classes for expectant and new parents will begin Monday, December 10, 2007. Registration for the 2 hour program, sponsored by Natural Lullabies, is now available online at naturallullababies.com or by calling 918.488.9969.
Natural Lullabies is Tulsa’s only pregnancy and new family specialty center, specializing in pregnancy, birth, postpartum and families. They are proud to have been helping Tulsa families for 4 years and plan to continue providing some of the most unique (and needed) services in Oklahoma!
The Happiest Baby classes teach new parents a step by step approach to help all infants sleep longer and soothe even the fussiest baby in minutes…or less! The cost is $50 ($45 for members) which includes the 2 hour class and a parent kit to take home which includes The Happiest Baby DVD and Soothing Sounds CD ($40 retail value).
Besides loving their baby like crazy, new parents have two main jobs when it comes to caring for new babies: feeding them successfully and calming them when they cry. Many resources are available to help mothers avoid and overcome feeding problems, but parents of crying babies are almost abandoned by the medical community. Yet waves of crying can erode a parent’s confidence and lead to nursing failure, marital stress, postpartum depression, and even abuse!
The vision of the Happiest Baby Program is to teach parents simple, effective and fun techniques to quickly soothe their babies’ cries and help them sleep a little longer.
The Happiest Baby educators provide hands on training on topics such as:
* The Missing 4th Trimester: it may sound odd, but many babies cry because, in an important way, they’re born 3 months too soon.
* The Calming Reflex: the virtual off-switch to crying that all babies are born with.
* The 5 S’s: the 5 simple techniques that activate the calming reflex.
The Happiest Baby educators provide hands on training to teach any new mom and dad how to become….the best parents on their block!
