Cain’s Ballroom (423 N Main St.) will play host to multi-talented Ian Moore with special guest Tulsa’s Own Phillip Zoellner Band.
Ian Moore, from Austin, Texas, started out playing fiddle but switched to the guitar after wrist issues. His music contains folk, rock and roll, world music, and blues.
Moore cut his teeth playing with Joe Ely’s touring band and appeared on one studio album, before branching out on his own with the formation of Ian Moore and Moment’s Notice, which later became, The Ian Moore Band.
He has played with the likes of the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and ZZ Top. He even had an appearance in the Billy Bob Thornton movie Sling Blade.
This tour is in support of the Uno EP release, which is available for digital download through iTunes currently. Look for a new full length album El Sonido Nuevo to be released on August 17.
Phillip Zoellner Band was recently selected to be a part of the CD, The Colony Presents, The New Tulsa Sound. Most recently they released I Love Jets.
PZB has been influenced by Ryan Adams, Pete Yorn and Tom Petty, but upon listen to their latest offering you may hear hints of The Beatles, Oasis, and Pearl Jam.
Show: Thursday, June 17, 2010
Doors open at 7 pm, show starts at 8 pm.
Tickets are $13.00 and are available at Cain’s box office, Starship Records and area Reasor’s.
