BLOOMINGTON, IN–The road has been a bit unkind to the Tulsa Oilers in the early part of this season as they fall in overtime to the Bloomington Prairie Thunder 2-1. Coach Bruce Ramsay and the Oilers were looking to bounce back after a 6-4 loss to the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Tuesday night.

Jack Combs scored the only goal for the Oilers at the 19:12 mark of the 1^st period and after a scoreless 2^nd period Jason Dale got the equalizer for the Prairie Thunder at 6:30 of the third period. Then just 61 seconds into the extra frame John Snowden sent the puck past Tyler Sims for the game winner.

Tyler Sims saved 26 of 28 shots in his first start while former Oiler Marco Emond was nearly flawless, stopping 37 of 38 shots.

The Oilers return home this Tuesday evening to face the Colorado Eagles at 7:05pm on the first $2 Tuesday of the season. Fans can get $2 beer and soda and there will be special discounts for members of the military and college students.
