Tulsa’s longest running comedy show is still going strong! Heller Theatre’s Laughing Matter Improv troupe performs Friday, June 17th, 2011 at 7:30pm. Laughing Matter is a live comedy show using suggestions from the audience to create a fun evening for the whole family.
What could happen at a Laughing Matter Improv show? Just about anything. It is interactive theatre with audience participation. The audience makes the performance happen. Improvisation is theatre of the moment and with multiple human characters, it is a safe bet such moments in a creative crowd will always provide laughs. If you like "Whose Line is it Anyway" or "Second City", you’ll love Tulsa’s version.
All tickets are $5, and all shows are family friendly. Call (918) 746-5065 for reservations or more information. The Henthorne Performing Arts Center is located at 4825 S. Quaker, one block east of Peoria. Yes, we know the streets are torn up in that area as I-44 is rebuilt – there could be jokes on Tulsa’s growing crop of orange cones – but trust there is a way through to reach the theatre. Please note, no matter how irritating, citizens can not take souvenir cones home as keepsakes for surviving off-road driving on public streets in Tulsa. Just know that it will be worth the effort to see Laughing Matter Inprov.
The City of Tulsa’s Heller and Clark Theatres have won 4 TATE awards for theatrical excellence. The theatre seasons are made possible in part through the generosity of the George Kaiser Family Foundation.
