Beloved music icon Roy Clark passes at 85

UPDATED:  Roy Clark, the legendary ‘superpicker’ GRAMMY, CMA and ACM award winner, Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry member and co-host of the famed ‘Hee Haw’ television series, died Thursday November 15 at the age of 85 due to complications from pneumonia at home in Tulsa, Okla.

‘Roy Clark’s Celebration of Life’ memorial will be open to the public on Wednesday, November 21 at 11:00am CT at Rhema Bible Church at 1025 W Kenosha St in Broken Arrow, OK (near Tulsa). The service will be streamed at rhema.org and on Rhema’s Facebook Page.   Continue reading

Willie Nelson is lampooned as leftist

Street artist Sabo released a new poster this week poking fun at Willie Nelson ahead of his fundraiser for Texas socialist-Dem Beto O’Rourke. Sabo’s poster brands Willie Nelson a “tax dodger” and teases a fictional tour called “The Boys Gone Soy.”

On September 29th, Nelson plans to play in Austin, Texas, for Beto O’Rourke, who is challenging Ted Cruz for his U.S. Senate seat.  Breitbart reports, “85-year-old singer said in response, ‘I’ve been supporting Democrats all my life.’”    Continue reading

Chris Young: “Losing Sleep” Tour

On a September Saturday when two of the three state major college football teams were playing home games, one might expect a few empty seats inside Tulsa’s BOK Center for a concert, but that wasn’t the case.  A capacity crowd welcomed country singer Chris Young with opening acts Kane Brown and Australia native Morgan Evans. Young, who won the 2006 “Nashville Star” reality competition on USA Network is touring in support of his latest album, “Losing Sleep.”  Continue reading

Executives cheer Tulsa BOK Center 10th

(Tulsa) September 6 – On this day in 2008, the legendary band, Eagles, played the first concert at BOK Center in front of a sold-out crowd. Since then, over 7.2 million fans have converged on Downtown Tulsa for 516 total concerts and family shows and more than 700 sporting events.

As a result, downtown Tulsa has seen an influx of new energy and an infusion of upwards of $1 billion in private development. BOK Center has emerged as one of the top concert destinations in the country and has been ranked as a top 20 arena for concert ticket sales every year since 2008. Continue reading

Bryan Bennett, chef and manager of the Back Street Food Truck, is the South Central Region Winner in the 2018 Neighborhood to Nation™ Recipe Contest from General Mills Foodservice.
