Eric Alva

Eric Alva

Eric Alva joined the Marines to serve his country, like his father and grandfather in the Vietnam War, Korean War and World War II, but in the early hours of March 21, 2003, Staff Sergeant Alva’s life changed forever when he stepped on a landmine and lost his right leg above the knee, making him the first U.S. Marine seriously injured in the Iraq War.

TULSA: The off-season acquisition of center Jon Booras has paid enormous dividends for the Tulsa Oilers in their debut in the ECHL this season.  He proved to be the superhero for the Oilers when they defeated the Wichita Thunder 3-2 in front of 4,096 in the BOK Center on Sunday afternoon.
