25th Anniversary of 9/11 Islamic Attacks

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt today issued Executive Order 2026-34, directing that the American flag, Oklahoma flag and Freedom flags on state property be flown at half-staff on Friday, September 11, 2026, in remembrance of the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. President Donald J. Trump in a proclamation in memory of the day declares, as Congress directed, Patriot Day.

“Twenty-five years later, September 11 remains a day of profound grief, but it is also a reminder of the strength displayed by everyday heroes from around our nation,” said Governor Stitt. “We remember the innocent lives taken from their families, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the men and women in uniform who have defended our freedom in the years since. Oklahoma stands with every family affected by this tragedy and with all those who continue to serve our nation.”
