25th Anniversary of 9/11 Islamic Attacks

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt today issued Executive Order 2026-34, directing that the American flag, Oklahoma flag and Freedom flags on state property be flown at half-staff on Friday, September 11, 2026, in remembrance of the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. President Donald J. Trump in a proclamation in memory of the day declares, as Congress directed, Patriot Day.

“Twenty-five years later, September 11 remains a day of profound grief, but it is also a reminder of the strength displayed by everyday heroes from around our nation,” said Governor Stitt. “We remember the innocent lives taken from their families, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the men and women in uniform who have defended our freedom in the years since. Oklahoma stands with every family affected by this tragedy and with all those who continue to serve our nation.”

OK Constitutional Convention Vote

Governor Stitt Tuesday took action to comply with the Oklahoma Constitution and send to a vote of the people of Oklahoma whether the legislature shall call a constitutional convention, as required by Article XXIV, Section 2 of the Oklahoma Constitution. This is a remarkable and praiseworthy proclamation.

Article XXIV, Section 2 requires that the people of Oklahoma be given the opportunity at least once every twenty years to decide whether or not to move forward with a constitutional convention. The question was last presented to Oklahomans in 1970, depriving Oklahomans of this constitutional right.

OK Innovation Campus Finalist

Governor Kevin Stitt announced Tuesday afternoon Oklahoma’s selection as one of five finalists being considered by the U.S. Department of Energy to host a first-of-its-kind Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus. These campuses will become the hubs for the future of nuclear research and development, adding to Oklahoma’s energy abundance agenda and opening the door for research into the potential uses of nuclear technology, including biotech and aerospace applications.

“Oklahoma has always been America’s energy innovation leader, from the oil boom of the early 1900s to the shale revolution in mid-2000s,” said Gov. Stitt. “Today marks a new frontier – the chance to add nuclear to our energy abundance agenda. This opportunity is an all hands on deck moment, and I look forward to working with communities across our state to make this campus a reality. I’m grateful to President Trump and Secretary Wright for their leadership and considering Oklahoma and for the companies, research institutions, and leaders across our state who have already pulled a seat up to the table to be a part of this project.”

OK Gov. Stitt v. City of Tulsa Decision

Thursday, the Oklahoma Supreme Court rejected Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols’ foolish attempt to cede authority to an Indian tribe “as a matter of law.” The decision voids a settlement agreement signed by Mayor Nichols between the City of Tulsa and the Muscogee (Creek) Nation that would have prevented municipal police and prosecutors from enforcing laws against tribal members. Said another way, this decision prevents race-based law enforcement as attempted by the Democrat Socialist Tulsa Mayor.

Local Control in High School Activities

Friday Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt signed House Bill 2153 into law, opening the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association’s (OSSAA) decisions to public inspection and ending the penalizing of student athletes for transferring schools.

“I’ve heard too many stories of students who did everything right to transfer, only to be sidelined by an unelected, unaccountable activities association,” said Governor Stitt. “No student’s chance to be a part of an activity should depend on whether their parents can afford an attorney. This law puts families, not bureaucracies, at the center.”
