Rattlers bite Talons 61-51.

TULSA, OK—  This time, there were no flukes, no untimed downs or X-factors that led to the Tulsa Talons 2nd loss ever in the BOK Center, It was the inability to hold onto the football.  The Arizona Rattlers overcame a double-digit deficit to beat the Talons 61-51 in front of 8,484 in the final regular season home game before the start of the 2010 AFL playoffs.

Talons QB Justin Allgood threw 20 completions on 36 attempts for 181 yards, but lost two fumbles and threw a pick that wound up sealing the game for Arizona.  He also threw 5 touchdown passes, a pair each to Carlese Franklin and Donovan Morgan and one to Jeff Hughley.  His counterpart from Arizona, Nick Davila threw 25 completions on 36 attempts for 296 yards and an interception.  He spread his 7 touchdown passes among three receivers, Trandon Harvey with one, and three each to Rod Windsor and J.J. McElvey.

One of the backbreakers for the Talons was a fumble in the 3rd quarter deep in Tulsa territory that was recovered by Rattlers in the end zone.  Arizona would go on to outscore the Talons 21-7 in the 4th quarter to put the game to bed.  The win for Arizona makes them a perfect 4-0 for the season against the American Conference Southwest division and 6-2 against former af2 teams.  It also gives them their first 10-win season since 2004.  Tulsa falls to 9-6 on the season and 6-2 on their home turf

As of this writing, the American conference playoff teams are now set.  The four teams who are in are Tulsa, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, and Orlando.  The seedings should be determined by the end of the week.  By winning their 9th division title last week, the Talons have a first round home game against either Jacksonville who beat Tulsa 62-60 on May 1, or Tampa Bay whom the Talons beat in their home opener on April 3rd.
