Lankford: Roe reverse won’t outlaw abortion

Even if the Supreme Court votes to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision on abortion, as a leaked draft document indicates, that will not outlaw abortion across the nation, but moves the battle to the states, Sen. James Lankford told Newsmax on Wednesday.

“We have a draft that is from February, so a lot can change during that time,” the Oklahoma Republican said on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America.” “But when they put out their final decision, it looks like they’re going to say states have the right, as they should have always had, to be able to protect the lives of children in their state.”

McCarthy out of touch with Californians

While the national environment of high gas prices and inflation, along with Joe Biden’s other failures have given the national Republican Party a boost in energy, the CA GOP convention stood in stark contrast to other states. This was encompassed in Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s 45 minute Saturday night speech, in what he chose to highlight and what he chose to omit.

Airline mask mandate crashes

The Financial Times has an excellent summary of today’s end of the “Biden administration’s mask requirement for passengers on public transport, which officials extended just days ago… The decision on Monday from [Judge] Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, appointed by former president Donald Trump, threw the administration’s masking policy into confusion, and airline workers warned of the possibility of clashes between passengers and staff following the judgment.”

The Fox Guarding the Herpetarium

A red fox responsible for biting at least one journalist and a lawmaker has been euthanized, according to health officials in Washington, D.C.

Several days ago, a congressman had a nasty encounter with a rabid fox on the D.C. Capitol building grounds. Let’s trust that he is no worse for the wear. But the question lingers: How did the fox know he was from California? Is this some sort of sign from above?

They—whoever they are—say “as California goes, so goes the nation.” Let’s hope not. The California state legislature has put forth some bills that boggle the mind and seek to change family, physicians, and their relationship to the government forever.
