Political Analysis: The Huffington Post reported Friday that Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Tom Perez became the first head of the party to demand ideological purity on abortion rights, promising to support only Democratic candidates who back a woman’s right to choose death.
“Every Democrat, like every American, should support a woman’s right to make her own choices about her body and her health,” Perez said in a statement. “That is not negotiable and should not change city by city or state by state.” It is a statement not likely to play well in Oklahoma. Opinion: In the category of stupid stuff the Tulsa City Council has done, this may be the most classic for historians. Not the out-of-control budget or streets or street lights. Not runaway city pensions. Not public safety or public education (which they hold no authority to address) or even escalating bureaucracy with endless fees and worthless permits.
