OID Adds Insurance Navigator

The Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) yesterday introduced the agency’s new personification, Nellie the Navigator, to help continue its mission of informing and protecting Oklahoma consumers.

“Nellie the Navigator” represents the key regulatory activities OID does, especially helping Oklahomans navigate insurance. Nellie will appear in OID’s communications and initiatives to support the agency’s mission and simplify insurance.

“We wanted to make OID more approachable for consumers,” said Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready. “Insurance can be difficult to navigate, but it doesn’t have to be! We want Nellie to be a friendly face Oklahomans can put to our agency. They can come to us for assistance, whether that’s understanding insurance coverage, finding savings or advocating for them.”

Insurance Dept. Medicare Webinars

The Oklahoma Insurance Department’s (OID) Medicare Assistance Program (MAP) will continue its free Medicare Mondays webinar series in 2026, offering live and on-demand education for Oklahomans navigating Medicare.

The webinars, which take place at 10 a.m. on the first Monday of each month, provide unbiased information on essential Medicare topics for current enrollees and those approaching eligibility. Since launching in 2023, Medicare Mondays have helped hundreds better understand their Medicare options.
