Today is 811 Day

Today, (8/11) is National 811 Day, a nationwide reminder that every digging project, large or small, should begin with a free call to 811. In cities and in unincorporated areas of Oklahoma, know what is below.

Late summer is one of the busiest seasons for outdoor projects across Oklahoma. Whether installing a fence or mailbox, planting trees and shrubs, preparing a fall garden, or tackling landscaping improvements, any project that disturbs the ground has the potential to strike an underground utility line or pipeline. Digging without first contacting 811 can result in serious injuries, utility service interruptions, environmental damage, and costly repairs.

Targeting Cuban Arms, Foreign Military

The Cuban Communist regime is a state sponsor of terrorism that uses its military and intelligence apparatus to spy on the United States, provide material support to violent radicals and terrorist groups, and spread poisonous Marxist ideology within our borders and polity, all while serving as a staging ground for other U.S. adversaries such as Russia, China and Iran to conduct operations against the United States.  

Cuba’s military and intelligence institutions are also the key enforcers of domestic repression and nodes of kleptocracy, notably through the military-run conglomerate Grupo de Administración Empresarial S.A. (GAESA).  Today, the Trump Administration is taking further action to protect our national security by sanctioning entities and individuals who facilitate Havana’s military relationships and the shipments of arms to the Cuban regime.

CJNG Rewards Over $100 Million

In a historic and decisive action in support of President Trump’s mission to eliminate narco-terrorist cartels threatening the American people, the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs is announcing reward offers under the Narcotics Rewards Program (NRP) and Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program (TOCRP) totaling up to $102 million for information leading to the arrests and/or convictions, in any country, of eight leaders and associates of Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG).
