Meat Processing in Indian Country

U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), a member of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, and U.S. Senator Tina Smith (D-MN) Wednesday introduced the Promoting Regulatory Independence, Mastery, and Expansion for Meat Processing in Indian Country Act, also known as the PRIME Meat Processing in Indian Country Act.

This bill will support tribal meat processing operations by establishing self-governance authority for the inspection of tribal meat processing facilities. This authority would keep processing local and available and facilities running smoothly and safely.

Sen. Mullin: Obama dropped 26,000 bombs

Yesterday, U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) participated in a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing with Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Elbridge Colby, to receive an update on the National Defense Strategy.

During his remarks, Senator Mullin addressed the disastrous Iran Nuclear Deal and called out Senate Democrats, including U.S. Senator Gary Peters (D-MI), who were silent when then-President Barack Obama dropped approximately 26,000 bombs on seven different countries in 2016 without congressional approval.
