RSU Announces Fall 2023 Honor Rolls

Rogers State University has announced its President’s and Dean’s Honor Rolls for the fall 2023 semester in a release today.

To qualify for the President’s Honor Roll, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours with a 4.0 grade point average. To qualify for the Dean’s Honor Roll, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours with a 3.5 grade point average.

Courses graded with an “I,” “N” and “P” are excluded from the minimum credit hours required to be considered for the Honor Roll.The following are RSU students named to the President’s and Dean’s Honor Rolls, listed by hometown.

Dahm Propaganda

Editorial: Oklahoma State Senator (R-Dist. 33, Broken Arrow) and Republican State Party Chairman Nathan Dahm declared January 29 that a meeting of the Republican State Committee held January 27 was illegitimate because “ALL” committee members were not invited.

However, Dahm has, contrary to Republican tradition, withheld access to official party mailing lists after his election at last year’s convention. That withholding of critical information limits the effectiveness of the Party’s Vice Chairman Wayne Hill and many elected precinct and county leaders.

The list used for the invitation may not have reached a small number of committee members new to the group.

In a stirring display of determination and advocacy, Women for Tulsa is set to galvanize the community with an event that’s more than just a gathering—it’s a movement. The group is hosting a noteworthy event featuring Riley Gaines, Ambassador at the Independent Women’s Forum and a celebrated 12-time NCAA All-American Swimmer.

This event, which is free to all ages and the public, is scheduled for February 9, 2024, at the Cove at River Spirit Casino in Tulsa and represents a clarion call for action.

Gaines, a symbol of determination and perseverance, is the group’s chosen face to inspire young women and men to stand for their beliefs. According to Julie Woolslayer, co-spokeswoman of Women for Tulsa, Riley’s message is clear and universal: “Protect women’s sports, protect women’s spaces. This message transcends political boundaries and should resonate with liberals, conservatives, and moderates alike.”

State should not penalize parents

Oklahoma, like most states, has a compulsory education law. If you don’t homeschool or send your child to a private school, you are required to enroll your child in a public school. Failure to do so means you can face fines and up to 15 days imprisonment on a third offense.

But if parents enroll their child in the “wrong” public school, they can face up to one year in jail.

Put simply, the potential consequences for neglecting a child’s education are far less severe than the consequences for trying to get your child in a safer public school with a better academic atmosphere.

Fortunately, one lawmaker wants to put an end to that mixed message.
