AccuWeather reports a portion of the southern United States will face the return of severe thunderstorms and flooding downpours at midweek.
Severe weather will erupt as a cold front slices into the surge of warmth set to bring a dramatic temperature upswing during the first half of this week.
“Run Free: The True Story of Caballo Blanco,” a feature-length documentary about ultra-running legend Micah True, will screen at the B&B Sapulpa Cinema 8 in Sapulpa, OK, on Sunday, March 20 at 5 p.m. The one-night-only event is sponsored by the Tulsa Area Trail & Ultra Runners (TATUR).
Micah True, better known as Caballo Blanco – the White Horse – was the focal character of Christopher McDougall’s 2009 best-selling book “Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen” about the Tarahumara Indians of northern Mexico. Also known as the Rarámuri, or Running People, they are some of the best long-distance runners in the world.

Former Tulsa County District Attorney Tim Harris Thursday formally endorsed Sgt. Vic Regalado for Tulsa County Sheriff, and said it’s time for Republican leaders to unify behind him.

Forbes begins: Without ever having to file criminal charges, police are routinely seizing (and keeping) cash, cars and other valuables. Known as “civil forfeiture,” the practice has netted law enforcement billions of dollars in revenue nationwide. Determined to end unjust forfeitures, an unusual coalition of libertarians, constitutional conservatives and civil-rights activists have banded together to press for reform in state legislatures across the country.
And nowhere has that battle raged fiercer than in Oklahoma.

Late Tuesday afternoon, Tulsa District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler confirmed by email to local media that he asked the Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to perform a special audit and investigation into irregularities found in the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office Inmate Trust Account.
