The Born & Raised Music Festival has been described as “a weekend of music and camping for the outlaw in all of us.” Presented by Patriot Auto Group, the Festival announced the 2023 lineup today and the expansion to 3 full days of music for its third annual experience.

“There’s nothing quite like the feeling of being born and raised on the red dirt in this part of the country, and that’s exactly what our festival celebrates – the roots, the heritage, and the music that define us,” shares Dave Geincke, Founder and Vice-President, General Manager Pryor Creek Music Festivals. “So we invite you to come on over, kick up your boots, and show the world what it means to be an outlaw at Born & Raised Music Festival.” 

Grammy-award honoree, Songwriters Hall of Fame member, and BBC Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Don McLean remembers Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, J.P. Richardson – “The Big Bopper” – and the pilot, Roger Peterson on the anniversary of the deadly plane crash just after their concert at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa. The fateful day was coined ‘The Day The Music Died’ by Don McLean in his hit “American Pie.” The song was released in 1971 and spent four weeks at No. 1 in 1972. In 2001, thirty years later, the Recording Industry of America named it the fifth greatest song of the 20th century.

The Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, Texas, has been home to the National Reining Breeders Classic for more than two decades. In the
past 22 years, the open-air design and sheer beauty of the GSEC, combined with the multiple schooling areas and large competition arenas, helped make the NRBC the can’t-miss event it is today, drawing thousands of participants from around the world.

The growth trend has always had an upwards trajectory, and because of that, the 2022 NRBC was bursting at the seams. The increased number of entries is precisely the reason that the NRBC Board of Directors made the difficult decision to move the event to Expo Square in Tulsa, Okla., beginning next year. The 2023 event will maintain its springtime date and will be held April 16-23.
