Mike Reynolds and the Challenge to the Contingency Review Board

Analysis: Former state legislator Mike Reynolds has brought a case before the Oklahoma Supreme Court challenging the constitutionality of the Contingency Review Board (CRB), a small state body composed of the Governor, the Speaker of the House, and the Senate President Pro Tempore. Though seldom discussed publicly, the CRB has for decades exercised authority to approve certain financial decisions outside the normal legislative process.

Reynolds argues that this arrangement violates the Oklahoma Constitution’s separation of powers.

Tulsa Honors Veterans

For 107 years, the Tulsa Veterans’ Day Parade is conducted for the purpose of honoring veterans of each and all types of honorable service in one or more than one of the five branches of the United States Military; plus those veterans who have served honorably during service in the armed forces of Nations allied with the United States at a time(s) when American forces were engaged in combat operations. This Tulsa Veterans Day Parade is to Honor Veterans and those who support Veterans. 

Today’s celebration kicks off at 7 a.m. with a veterans breakfast at the VFW (1109 E. 6th St.). The parade starts at 11 a.m. at Williams Green (10 E. 3rd St.) before weaving through downtown and ending at the VFW. The Tulsa Metro Area is home to over 65,000 veterans and the Tulsa Parade is the oldest and largest Veterans Day Parade in the nation.

Area Housing Starts Steady Growth

The Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa reports a continued strong pace of residential construction across the Tulsa metro area. Through September 2025, the region recorded 2,578 housing starts, marking an 8.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

The September total of 273 new housing starts reflects consistent momentum as builders meet ongoing housing demand throughout the area.

“Despite market fluctuations, Tulsa’s housing industry remains stable and productive,” said Jeffrey Smith, CEO of the Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa. “Builders continue to respond to population growth, job creation, and buyer demand across the metro.”
