Our own Carrie Underwood returned to Tulsa recently, entertaining a packed BOK Center as part of her “Storyteller: Stories in the Round Tour.” Her elaborate stage had to be seen to be believed. Running near the length of the arena floor with walkways that extended on both sides, fans seated surrounding the stage had the opportunity to see the seven-time Grammy winner campfire close – storytelling close.

Underwood used every opportunity of that stage with its complex system of wires, pulleys, lifts and risers and it seemed the scene was constantly evolving.

Calling all ‘Brawlers!

Dodgebrawl1The fifth annual Dodgebrawl Tournament presented by 2 Fellas Moving Company returns to BOK Center July 23. This one-day dodge ball tournament sets teams to compete for the charity or nonprofit of their choice with each winning team’s selected charity/nonprofit receiving a financial donation on behalf of the tournament.

Barry Manilow took to the BOK Center stage Friday night as part of his “One Last Time” tour and if this really was his final appearance in Tulsa, he certainly gave all his “Fanilows” their money’s worth.

In a career that has spanned five decades, beginning as a commercial jingle writer, Manilow transported his audience through a career of hits including both well-known and the lesser known songs. He even performed a “duet” with Judy Garland on Zing! Went the Strings of my Heart.
