‘Culture of Corruption’ boomerangs

BarackObamaClownsPresident Obama was whistling in the dark if he seriously believes sex, lies, abuse of power, and betrayal of those fighting for their country are nothing more than “phoney scandals.”  Could he be a fool, a tool, or a Soviet agent?  The Washington Times writes:

The Democratic Party is battling scandals from New York to San Diego and from city hall to Capitol Hill, as the party finds itself on the defensive over embarrassing lapses ranging from sexual misconduct to multiple scandals ensnaring the Obama administration.

President Obama on Wednesday denounced what he called “phony scandals” and “an endless parade of distractions” blocking progress on the economy and other issues, but critics say the controversies underscore the missed opportunities for the president and his party to live up to pledges to clean up politics and break traditional patterns of money, influence and privilege in government.

Christian girls targeted

NigeriaChildChristian girls in Northern Nigeria are being abducted, kept in the homes of Muslim leaders and forced to renounce their faith.

Professor Daniel Babayi, secretary of the Northern Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), said that the issue was getting worse and that they are currently pursuing five cases. He said:

Rep. James Lankford, OklahomaWashington, DC — Representative James Lankford (R-OK), a member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, applauded the work of the Committee yesterday to send a number of important bills to the House floor for full House consideration. One of the bills passed in the Committee’s mark-up today was H.R. 1423, Lankford’s Taxpayers Right-to-Know Act.

“The federal government cannot produce a list of all the programs, the cost of the programs and the metrics to evaluate the programs. That is absurd,” said Lankford.

“The American people cannot hold their government accountable and eliminate duplication in government, if we cannot even produce a list of the programs. As we rapidly approach $17 trillion in national debt, it is vital that we hold the federal government accountable for how Washington spends our hard-earned tax dollars.”

Economic summer rerun

BarackObamaConstitutionThe Heritage Foundation provides a detailed analysis of President Obama’s latest economic speech suggesting that it was “the same tired, worn-out economic speech he’s been giving for almost five years now.

“Rather than offering new solutions that could revive the dormant economy and put people back to work, the President offered the same old policies that have already failed, namely more stimulus spending on infrastructure and misguided educational programs. Taking money out of one area of the economy and spending it in another through the government does not create economic growth.

The second man to walk on the moon, Aldrin is also the first — and only known — individual to take Holy Communion. The act, which has gained scattered coverage in the past, was both a coveted and a controversial one.

Just before Aldrin stepped foot on the moon, he took the Eucharist, using wafers and a bottle of wine he brought into space from the Webster Presbyterian Church in Webster, Texas. Over the past decades since the 1969 moon landing, he has openly discussed the fascinating experience in detail.
