Sen. Lankford on Obamacare Fraud

“Well, that’s a problem.”

US Senator James Lankford (R-OK), Chairman of the Border Management, Federal Workforce, and Regulatory Affairs Subcommittee of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC), yesterday highlighted findings from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) during a hearing examining high-risk and fragmented federal programs that undermine fiscal responsibility. The hearing focused in part on GAO’s investigative work uncovering identity verification failures in the so-called Affordable Care Act’s federal health insurance marketplace.

OKC Black Lives Embarrassment

A grand jury indictment was unsealed, charging Tashella Sheri Amore Dickerson, 52, of Oklahoma City, with wire fraud and money laundering, announced U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester for the Western District of Oklahoma. Dickerson made her initial appearance in court last Thursday December 11th and the Oklahoma disgrace has been all over the national news ever since.

According to the indictment, beginning in at least 2016, Dickerson served as the Executive Director of Black Lives Matter OKC (BLMOKC). As Executive Director, Dickerson had access to BLMOKC’s bank, PayPal, and Cash App accounts.

OKC Mayor Ignores Reality

In an interview with KOCO news, Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt urged Oklahomans to adopt California’s election system and place all candidates from all parties on a single ballot and allow all voters to participate in a summer election. Then the “top two” vote recipients would advance to the November general election, even if both candidates are from the same political party.

Holt endorsed State Question 836, which would impose California’s system on Oklahoma, saying the California system promotes officeholders who “seek pragmatic, practical outcomes that have a broad spectrum of support. We just need people in office who are talking about the economy and education and health care and issues that are important,” Holt said.

Perhaps Holt has not noticed how things actually play out in California and Oklahoma.

Donate Venison: Get Bonus Season

Oklahoma’s 2025 holiday antlerless deer gun season will open Dec. 18 and run through Dec. 31 across most of the state. Hunters are urged to get outdoors during the last two weeks of the year and harvest one or two antlerless white-tailed deer — if not for themselves then for the thousands of hungry people in need through the Hunters Against Hunger (HAH) program.

Deer taken during the holiday antlerless season are considered bonus deer, which are in addition to a hunter’s aggregate deer limit from the other regular deer seasons. Hunters holding the appropriate base hunting license and a deer gun season license (unless exempt) may participate in the holiday antlerless season, even if they have already harvested their combined season limit of deer.

Deer hunters are urged to get more time afield during holiday antlerless deer gun season and consider donating their harvest to ODWC’s Hunters Against Hunger program. (Barry Bolton/Courtesy))
