OU Welcomes Criminal Invaders

Updated: According to a story by Clarise Tujardon ’26 published Friday, July 18, on Campus Reform, “the University of Oklahoma (OU) in Norman continues to provide services for illegal alien students through its admissions and financial aid processes” the Texas Correspondent wrote.

On its web page, OU’s Undocumented Admissions describes itself as a “safe place” and a “source of information and guidance” for illegal immigrants on how to apply to the university. It includes step-by-step instructions on application routes, tuition eligibility, and financial aid status.

“In the Office of Admissions and Recruitment, we do our best to find and provide the resources to better serve undocumented and DACA students as they are students who work hard to pursue their education and deserve access to higher education and become members of the OU family,” the website reads. “This is a safe place.”

Don’t Undermine Medicare Advantage

As a retiree living on a fixed income, I’ve seen how hard it can be for people to navigate the system. Too often, coverage is confusing, fragmented, or simply out of reach. But Medicare Advantage has been one of the few programs I’ve seen consistently deliver real, meaningful care to the people who need it most.

That’s why we have to stay vigilant and keep leaders accountable to their promises not to touch this vital program. In the past, including under the previous administration, proposed cuts to Medicare undermined the program. Those ideas have not gone away, unfortunately, and future budget or policy decisions could still do damage.

Budget Balance Requires Reform

Balancing the budget is the decisive principle that will enable genuine reform of the federal government. Americans will accept substantial changes if they lead to a balanced budget, lower interest rates, lower taxes, a healthier economy, and increased jobs and take-home pay.

We know balancing the budget is achievable because House Republicans successfully led the effort in the 1990s. That initiative resulted in the only four consecutive balanced budgets in the last 100 years.

Practically, reality-based principles can help make balancing the budget achievable again. One crucial principle is the role of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) as a scoring mechanism defining the parameters of Congressional success.
