Politicians’ favorite line seems to be: “It’s for our children and grandchildren.” But what if we don’t have any?
People are still concerned about Paul Ehrlich’s “Population Bomb,” but apparently haven’t noticed that we are closing schools while building old people’s homes, where many staff members are immigrants and many residents have no one to visit them.
OKLAHOMA CITY – The governor this week signed into law a bill that will allow for a victim-led restorative justice pilot program to be established in the state.
The purpose of House Bill 1880, by House Majority Caucus Whip Tammy West, R-Oklahoma City, is to divert non-violent offenders from traditional prosecution and incarcerations models. Instead, cases are referred to the program and trained citizen-led mediation panels help determine punishment and restoration. The goal is rehabilitation of the offender through reconciliation with the victims and the community at large.
Last week, your Oklahoma Legislature heard 187 measures in the House, 185 Senate bills and 2 House bills. I wanted to highlight a few important pieces of legislation for this update.
Senate Bill 585 passed by a vote of 56-25 and is on its way to the Governor. This bill defines habitual or willful neglect of duty as it relates to causes for removal of an individual from office, to include knowingly giving false testimony to a committee of either house of the Legislature; knowingly engaging in operations beyond the authority delegated to the agency served by or employing the officer; or repeatedly refusing to provide information to a committee, either house, or a member of the Legislature in a timely manner.
Analysis: Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick’s death was used to damn President Trump and all Conservatives in Washington January 6. Democratic Party Officials and media stooges showed a perverted joy in Sicknick’s victim-hood.
Sicknick, 42, was hailed a hero, with President Biden ordering an urn with his ashes to lie in honor in the Capitol Rotunda — only the sixth person in history to receive the honor. Corporate media spent weeks “hoaxing America” that Sicknick died after an anti-vote-fraud protester smashed him in the head with a fire extinguisher during the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol and/or from reaction to “Bear Spray” carried by a few.
Officer Sicknick’s death was not directly caused by the January 6 event, the DC medical examiner said Monday.
Ventriloquizing for the Kremlin, the director of Russia’s state-run international media giants, RT and Sputnik, Margarita Simonyan, in a recent TV interview declared:
“Russia will invade Ukraine, sparking a conflict with the U.S. that will force entire cities into blackouts…All-out cyber warfare, nation-wide forced blackouts…she describes as a fated war-to-come against the U.S.” reports journalist Julia Davis (Daily Beast 13 April 2021).
“War is inevitable,” according to Russia’s Simonyan, “I do not believe that this will be a large-scale hot war, like World War II, and I do not believe there will be a long Cold War. It will be a war of the third type: the cyber war.”
